Positive: It was so quiet and lovely at the location. We took a walk each day in the woods and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The inn is very large, but quiet and very nice. It’s great to have horseback riding (although it was closed on Mon-Thur that we were there), an on-location dining room, an arcade room and so much more. We’ve stayed at all but 1 so far of the Indiana State Parks that have an Inn, and this one was the best. The rooms are nice, with a large bathroom.
Negative: The bed wasn’t as comfortable as I like. No having a refrigerator and microwave in the room was a problem. Only 24 channels on the smallish TV.
Summary: Fun, relaxing, quiet stay at a great location. Near other things (like Shipshewana) if you want.

Positive: The pool and the lake were nice. The staff was very friendly. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The surrounding park was also nice
Negative: The hot tub did not function properly, the restaurant was very understaffed, the sauna was broken, there was a loud conference that was right at the common area entrances that made it difficult to deal with the big crowds and the noise to access the facilities. The hot tub was accessible but half of the jets were plugged making the remaining jets splash people in the face making for uncomfortable to use. The hot tub was chilly.
Summary: Nice facilities, but short staffed and needs some repairs to the hot tub to make it more pleasant

Positive: Beautiful, serene location. Bed was super comfy.
Negative: They turned off the power to the entire facility for HOURS the day after we arrived. Had I known that when we checked in we probably wouldn’t have stayed. It was a working vacation so I had to be online that the next day. I burned through my data plan because I couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi. I had to leave & go to Starbucks to charge my laptop to finish my work day…made for a very stressful day. At the very least they should’ve credited our room charge. The restaurant had awful service. We tried to have dinner there the first night of our stay. We waited at the front for over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us & seat us. After being seated, we weren’t given menus, water, anything! We waited another 15 mins & left. There were only 4 other small parties in the dining room. As we were waiting we could hear the staff in the kitchen laughing & it sounded like there was a party going on back there. Very unprofessional!

Positive: Historic room was cozy, worked well for the two of us since we didn't spend much time in the room. The meals were good, not exceptional. Loved the wine delivered to our room package...with chocolates. Yum!
Negative: My fault when booking I didn't realize the bed was double (not queen or full). Bed was a little tight for the two of us but we did sleep and were able to take nice hikes on the property!
Summary: Very nice outdoors-y get away! Only 1.5 hours from home to boot!

Positive: It's an interesting historic inn. I enjoyed exploring the grounds. They have very nice areas where people can meet and talk. The staff were nice, friendly and helpful.
Negative: Some of the hardware wasn't great, such as the TV remote. My room didn't have a refrigerator.
Summary: The grounds are nice and interesting. The inn is also interesting.
